Bugs in Versions 2.1.1 - 2.5.0

Crackling when engaging Keylock

There are audible crackles when engaging keylock in the track decks and the remix decks.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012
Fixed in: unknown

Crackling when browsing through list of FX

There are audible crackles when browsing quickly through the effects list.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012; seems to be an older bug
Fixed in: unknown

Dragging a track to a playlist or favourite shortcut keeps target folder open

If you drag a track onto a closed playlist/favourite shortcut to drop it there, Traktor opens the playlist/folder. Once the track is dropped, Traktor keeps the folder/playlist open. Correct behaviour (as in Traktor 2.1.3) would be, that Traktor re-opens the source folder after the drop.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012
Fixed in: unknown

Tracks cannot be dragged and dropped anymore onto an open playlist

Traktor does not let you drag and drop a track from a deck onto an open playlist. You can drop it on the name of the playlist in the browser tree, but not into the track list of the browser.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012
Fixed in: unknown

Traktor ignores all grid markers in track except of the first

If you have more than one grid marker in a track, Traktor ignores all other grid markers except the first. When playback reaches another grid marker, Traktor should change the phase meter according to the new grid marker.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012
Fixed in: unknown

Switch between Fullscreen and Window Mode

If option "Switch to Fullscreen on Startup" and "Show Consistency Check on Startup" are both enabled the following will happen:
If you exit Fullscreen Mode with the corresponding button in the header to return to windowed mode, you cannot control Traktor with the mouse anymore.

Workaround: Disable one of the two option until the bug is fixed.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012
Fixed in: unknown

Naming Bugs in Mapping Commands

"Analyze Loaded Track" belongs into Track Deck menu, not Deck Common. Command can only be used for tracks, and not for remix decks.

"Add Folder to Favorites" should be "Add Track(s) to Favorites"; you can only add tracks to a favorite shortcut, and not folders.

"Advanced Panel Toggle" should be "Advanced Panel On". All toggle commands in Traktor use the postfix "On" now, and not "Toggle" anymore.

Issue in: Traktor 2.5.0, added on May 25, 2012
Fixed in: unknown

Inc and Dec non-functional for Mapping Command Cue Type

In former Traktor versions ine could change the type of the current cue point with the mapping command  Cue/Loops | Cue Type and by using either interaction mode Inc or Dec. Traktor then iterated through the list of the available cue point types. Currently the cue point type can only be set by using interaction mode Direct.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1 - 2.5.0, added on December 7, 2011
Fixed in: unknown

Using the Pitch bend buttons does not disable absolute timecode mode

Up until version 2.0.3 Traktor automatically switched from absolute to relative timecode mode when the Pitch Bend buttons on the UI or the corresponding mapping commands were used. In version 2.1.1 and higher the deck stays in absolute mode.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1 - 2.5.0, added on December 7, 2011
Fixed in: unknown

Gain Knob of Loop Recorder acts as Dry/Wet (external mixing mode)

The functionality of the Dry/Wet knob in the loop recorder was changed in Traktor 2.1.1, if you are using external mixer mode. It is now labelled as Gain and shall affect the volume only (and not the ratio of the incoming/dry and the outgoing/wet signal).

The problem is that the Gain knob now behaves like a combination of Dry/Wet and Gain (see this tutorial for more information).

Workaround   Make sure to set the Gain knob of the Aux Send bus of your mixer back to 0 once the loop is recorded and before you start playback or open the fader of the channel where the Loop Recorder audio is sent to.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1 - 2.5.0, added on October 17, 2011

Using CUE leads to jump

If you press CUE to stop playback of a deck that is currently acting as sync master, and if you are using automatic master, and if the synchronisation mode is set to Beat Sync, the track in the deck that now becomes the Sync Master, jumps. This looks as though something is going wrong with the automatic synchronisation here.

There are two possible workarounds for this issue. You can either set the synchronisation mode to Tempo Sync or disable the automatic Sync Master selection by assigning the Master Clock as sync master.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1-2.5.0, added on October 4, 2011
Fixed in: unknown

Multi-core Support leads to high CPU Load

Several users experience a dramatically higher CPU load in version 2.1.1. Sometimes it can help to disable the multi-core support on Preferences/Audio Setup. If this does not help, you should go back to version 2.0.3.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, 2.1.2 (?), 2.5.0 (?) added on October 4, 2011
Fixed in: unknown

Note for 2.1.2/2.1.3 I leave this bug in the "not fixed" section as there are still Traktor users seeing a high CPU load in general, and some while Multi-Core support is enabled.

Note for 2.5.0  It is still difficult to make a general statement in regard to the higher CPU load. Traktor 2.5 users make different experiences. Some don't see much changes, some see improvments, some see a higher load than in previous versions. And, the Traktor versions cannot be compared, as Traktor 2.5 and the remix decks introduced much more new functionality, which of course needs more CPU cycles. As long as a higher CPU load does not cause any audio problems, I would not be worried too much.

  Older, fixed Bugs

Mapping command Sample Deck | Slot Play Mode exists twice

The Sample Deck submenu of the Add In button in Controller Manager contains the Slot Play Mode command twice. This seems to be an error due to some name changes of the Sample Deck commands.

Workaround: Use the second Slot Play Mode command if you want to set the sample loaded in a slot to either Loop or One-Shot.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1 and 2.1.2, added on October 11, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.5.0

Drag&Drop from Preview Player to Deck broken

Up to version 2.0.3 you could drag a track from the preview player onto a deck. This is broken in version 2.1.1. There is no workaround for this problem.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 21, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Timecode Support broken

Several users report that the timecode support gets broken after the update to version 2.1.1. The timecode engine does not calibrate anymore and stays in the "waiting" state.

Even though I could not reproduce this with Audio 4 DJ, Audio 8 DJ and Traktor Audio 10, this problem was added as there are many users reporting it and because I think this is really a very critical bug.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 17, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Note  As far as I can see the timecode calibration issues are solved in version 2.1.2. If you still have problems with calibration and if you use a legal copy of Traktor please send me a message. From what I know are some, but not all, calibrations problems caused by using a cracked copy of Traktor.

M4A Files are defective after Import in Traktor

Some M4A files get unusable after importing them in Traktor. When the file is added to the Traktor collection if can be played. Traktor cannot play the file anymore after a relaunch of Traktor.

The imported file could neither be in WinAmp and Windows Media Player. The copy I created before the Traktor import plays fine.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1 (Due to the user who informed me about this bug, it exists in earlier versions as well. I only tested on version 2.1.1.), added on October 13, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Note  As I normally do not use M4A files I could verify the fix with some test files only. All files that I used were still playable in WinAmp and Windows Mediy Player after I imported them into Traktor 2.1.2. If you still see the problem with files that were imported first into Traktor using version 2.1.2 please send me a message.

Synchronisation via MIDI clock works worse than in previous versions

Many users report that the synchronisation via MIDI clock works worse in Traktor 2.1.1 than in earlier versions. This seems to be true as well for synchronisation Maschine and Traktor on the same systems as for MIDI clock sync of two Traktor systems.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 11, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Note  I verified the fix with an external MIDI clock (sent by my Xone:92) in a setup where both Traktor and Maschine were configured as MIDI tempo slave. The test with the external MIDI clock showed that Traktor needs much longer (between 20 and 30 times) than Maschine untilt the BPM value stabilizes. Maschine needed approx. one second.

The second setup I checked: Traktor and Maschine running on the same MacBook; Traktor was tempo master and Maschine tempo slave. It looks as if this setup can be used again without problems.

Using CUP in Instant Mode moves Phasesee

The following bug occurs if you are using Tempo Sync as synchronisation mode and if you are using CUP in instant mode to jump back to the desired start of playback position. In this workflow you would (either manually or with the Tempo Sync function of Traktor) set the tempo of the new track to the one which is currently playing.

Then you set a cue point at the position where playback shall be started and use the pitch bend buttons to correct the phase. When the beats match you use CUP to go back to the playback position.

In version 2.0.3, Traktor does not touch the phase you manually set when you press CUP. In version 2.1.1, Traktor moves the phase to a somehow random value resulting in loosing the sync.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 7, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Not all Deck Controls are reset when loading a new Track

The setting Reset all deck controls when loading new track does not reset the tempo fader to zero in 2.1.1.

The tempo fader should be reset to zero if the Sync button on the deck is Off. (If the Sync button is On, the tempo fader should be set to the tempo of the Sync Master. This is still working as it worked in Traktor 2.0.3.)

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 7, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Mapping Commmand Tempo Sync broken

This command has no effect in version 2.1.1.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 6, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Sample Slots get unloaded

If you load a missing sample into a sample slot Traktor unloads and stops the playback of all other sample slots of that deck. There is no workaround available.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 4, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Out Command Track End Warning is broken

The out command Track End Warning no longer works.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 4, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Switching to Fallback Device broken

Traktor does not automatically select the configured fallback device if the standard audio device is not available. This is a problem in the Windows version of Traktor.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 4, 2011, updated on October 17, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Cue Play Mode setting broken for decks B-D

The Cue Play Mode setting (Preferences/Transport) is broken for all decks except of deck A. If you set this option to Instant, playback of decks B, C and D does not start until you release the CUP button.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 4, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

Load Loop Play is broken

The mapping command Loop Load Play is broken. In version 2.1.1 the selected loop is loaded into the deck, but playback does not start.

Issue in: Traktor 2.1.1, added on October 4, 2011
Fixed in: Traktor 2.1.2

I have not tried version 2.1.2, but I wonder if they have had problems with bugs or unexpected errors when they play certain songs, browsing the library or applying effects.

Dj am and 2 occasions in different concerts, traktor crashed and I had to reboot.

I hope that in this version are gone these bugs.

Experienced a lot of problems yesterday in the club with both Macs and Traktor 2.1.2
Even a crash during the set... This is a very bad update of Traktor. I can't believe that they "throw" this update on the internet when there are even more problems than in the old version.

Is there a possibility to downgrade to my previous Traktor Scratch Pro version? I did not experience any problems with that version...

Something going on with the Deck mode modifier. Seems to be locked on Internal Playback mode. Before you could use this to map the same objects to both sampler and normal decks. Maybe since they are mutually exclusive they took this out?

I bought myself a new processor, a quad-core Q9550, and installed Windows 7 64-bit, so it uses my full 4gb of RAM.

Then I noticed how Traktor 2.1.1 was getting high CPU-load, and audio-stream got fcuked up.
So I installed a dual-boot, one for Win 7 64-bit and a Win 7 32-bit.

Tried Traktor in 32-bit, and still same issue :s
Until I unchecked the Multi-core support.

All works good now... Hope Native Instrument will fix this issue tho, so it can use all 4 cores in my CPU, so in the end,

I think that having a properly configured PC for optimal performance does not justify excessive resources consumed traktor 2.1.1 because there are people that have high power and pc performance and traktor 2.1.1 consumption is very high.

I do not understand because it does not advance native instrument updates. Fixed minor bugs when most importantly (clean sound) and (bugs).

It seems that they do not understand when a DJ is mixing with traktor before hundreds of people and suddenly in the

The problem is that every time they release a update to fix bugs, the new update introduces new bugs .. so if you use the version 2.0.3 the cpu more stable but will have other faults are not corrected as problems with cdj (cue) etc ...

We need a final clean of errors ..
I now use version 2.1.1 and version 1.2.8 (ddj-t1)

There are others bugs related to Denon DN-X1600:
1. This is the most unexpalinable bug: How Traktor has no compatibility with rotary controls of this certified mixer? It would solved only to add a third option for the rotary controls 00h/7fh!
2. If the USB cable is removed and connected again, Traktor do not restore the connection. It's necessary to close it and open it again to the mixer be recognized.
2. Traktor do not send correct commands to control the DN-X1600 leds FUNC1 and FUNC2.
wrote on January 28, 2012 at 13:55
3. All bugs and erros were reported to NI and Denon support. While the Denon support says that everything is related to the Traktor software, NI support answer only about the FUNC1 and FUNC2, that they will be fixed in the next version.

One minute Traktor's sample decks are synced, the next minute they aren't. There is a malfunction in sample decks sync. I have tested it and there is definitely a problem, here's how i did. I would load a sample (in loop mode) to the sample deck and have the track deck set to master, play them and they are in sync. I move the tempo fader and the sample's bpm also adjusts. After a few tracks the sample decks will just not want to sync any more. I've tried loading in different samples but no sync.

I'm using Traktor Scratch Duo 2 and it loads quite a few tracks out of phase, the sound quality goes strange (due to the track now being out of phase) and the waveform goes super thin and become un-usable. I did a mix last night and 99% of the tracks that loaded, loaded into Traktor out of phase totally ruining the whole dj mix. If this happened during a live set it'd be devastating and probably ruin your reputation. Traktor is way to buggy and unreliable to be used for a live performance.

Hi, I've got a bug to report; tunes I processed in MIK - manually keying the info in the key field - and I've opened Traktor to find I'll have to start over :S Think this happened the other day too.

i've been using tractor for a few years and now run a S4.
I use iTunes to store my tracks  - and i run OSx Lion on a MacPro 17 "
whenever I record a mix i export the history file as a m3u file to my desktop and then import it into iTunes.
new playlist and then I have the tracks that i played in sequence so I can play the set out at any time -
Since upgrading to 2.5  - the m3u file will not open back in iTunes playlist  - blank. has the history file changed in 2.5?? or is there a work around?
Help Please?

2.5 upon exit, is generally not saving changes made in controller manager! sometimes it saves sometimes it doesnt. spent awhile setting up my controller only to have all of the controls I added disappear next time I booted up the software. on macosx 10.6 & with xone k2

toggling between single and advanced effects racks no longer remembers last effect used in other mode. Whatever effect you put in the first space will copy when switching back to single.

Example: I have gater enabled in single and toggle to advanced. I use a filter for space 1, (a delay for space 2, a reverb for space 3). When I toggle back to single effect mode it no longer is a gater but now a reverb (copied from first effect in adv mode).

When playing sounds without the s4 everything works fine. But when I plug in my s4, it produces some digital sounds, my tracks play in shocks so it aint working anymore...

Problem: <a href="">Sound cuts out while tracks analyzing</a>

I'm waiting a fix since first version of Traktor PRO 2 :(

When stopping/pausing a track on an opposite deck, it skips/glitches the audio in the current track playing (on another deck). Is this an X1 issue or software issue?

Not sure if this info has been posted here previously, but I do a lot of Mac setup & tech support for several <span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); ">DJs & musicians in my area. Most of them use a MacBook or a MB Pro. When Apple released the 10.6.8 update, just about all of them that installed it, started having issues primarily related to Audio.

What I saw was the OSX built-in audio (analog) was no longer working. You could not select it in the "Sound" System prefs or in "Audio Midi Setup" simply because it didn't even show up as an option. The update looked to have broken Core Audio's analog function. This caused the system to choose the optical (digital) connections by default, as well as the resolution set at 24bit 96k. I had some of the crackling noises when browsing through fx. I just upgrade to the new macbook pro from the white 2006 macbook. Problem is gone. Perhaps the big jump in ram. Maybe the new 2.5 version is more power hungry

The new S4 driver version 3.0.3 does not work properly with 64bit Windows 7.
If I install the latest driver, the S4 will not turn on when Traktor Pro 2.1.1 starts. Nor will it turn on in version 2.5 (not that I like 2.5 as I had it running on my 32bit laptop but went back to 2.1.1).

If I install the 3.0.3 driver on my 32bit Windows 7 laptop, both versions of Pro (2.1.1 and 2.5) work correctly.

Traktor 2.5 does list the S4 at all. I have had to install 2.1.1 and then update over the top and install 2.5.

All in all 2.5 has been a complete waste of money. I should have done my research before purchasing it.

Mein System:
Traktor 2.5 r 13951
Mac book pro early 2011
mac lion
hercules mk2

nach mehreren Stunden hab ich mal herausgefunden, warum mein Jogwheel nicht mehr geht.
In dem Traktor Forum von NI steht, dass es ein Bug ist und demnächst behoben wird.

Workaround: angeblich statt seek position beat jump verwenden.

Hei guys, i had problems with the Scratch pro 2.5.1 (the version with the rmx decks) and cpu load was off the roof, lost calibration on all decks, regardless of what i was playing with, cds, vinyls. been sending emails to NI for more than a month expecting an answer and they told me by the look of it,everything is working fine! im quite dissapointed with traktor tbh even considered swapping to serato but before i even looked further, i deinstalled TS2 and installed TS1 and it prooved flawless (as we know it was). it prooves the lack of commitment by the NI team. we spend money trying to make sure we get ONLY THE BEST and its actually worse. 66 euros down the drain

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but during the led mapping (using xone k2) in layer out mode, with personnal layers created, if at a button is assigned a random color in the layer 1 and if in the layer 2 another color is assigned in invert mode, there will be a led conflict and the led from the first layer won't be lighted on when back in the layer 1. The led in the layer 2 will be still lighted on

Version 2.6.2 still has issues with multi core support causing audio glitches, etc.

I have an FX-8350 which is an 8 core processor at 4ghz, I don't think traktor would ever come close to high cpu utilization.

So I still continue to leave the option unchecked which is disappointing to me. I figured it would have been fixed by now.

I use traktor with the s4 on a windows 7 AMD dual core 4gb RAM machine, whcih runs nothing else..  Aster trying every single tip I could find on the high CPU on idle / usb overload I've come to believe they should not sell this for the windows environment.  The same problems have been going one since before 2011 from what I read which in 2014..... means Native Instruments simply is in it for the money on the windows side, which is disappointing.  Its not the hardware or any of the settings in windows 7 causing these problems year after year.  I ran Reason and other CPU/usb audio intensive apps without a problem.  This is just a lot of 'don't care', poor coding and you should have got a retina display macbook nonsense.

I wish I would have known this before purchasing.  I mean everyone has a money for a macbook, pro right?
