Pro S4: User Mapping to reset FX/Deck assignment in 4 FX mode

If you use another controller next to the S4 it can be useful still to be able to assign FX unit 1 and FX unit 2 to all four decks. To achieve this I created a small user mapping for the S4. It overwrites the restrictive default assignment in 4 FX units mode and re-enables the four disabled assignment buttons.

Traktor Pro S4 uses in the default configuration two of the four available FX units. In this setting the eight deck/FX assignment buttons on the S4 controller can be used to assign FX unit 1 and FX unit 2 to each of the four decks.

Things change a bit when you enable all four FX units on the Preferences/Effects dialog box. Then four of the assignment buttons are disabled. The other four can be used to enable/disable the pre-defined assignment between FX unit and deck. Each deck then has its dedicated FX unit: deck A uses FX unit 1, deck B uses FX unit 2 and so on.

thanks a lot for that.. one thing: the leds dont really work. on deck C/D they dont work at all, on A only 1 on B only 2. i guess it has to do something with the default s4 mapping. is there a way to get the LED to lit up correctly? thx
 Rainer G. Haselier (admin) says:
The LED output can't get overwritten. I tried to map this but either the hardware driver or the software prevents the LED to lit up.

ANy updates on the LED output issue ? just assuming after 6 months there might've been a few changes. If not major drawback on NI's part for not looking into such a basic matter and allowing such configurations. Thanks for the mapping. Cheers

would it be possible to map the 3. and 4. effect to be activated by one of the shift buttons +the assignment (1,2) buttons? the other shift+assignment couls still be used to assign the deck to the crossfader.
